DREAMER'S WAKE

Dreamer's Wake was painted between 2019 and 2020 in Melbourne. At the time, I found myself deeply inspired by the colour palettes of Romanticism and often felt as though I had stepped into a dreamlike portal while working on this piece.

Created during the final years of my intuitive abstract-expressionist period, the painting belongs to a body of work that preceded a significant shift in my practice. Shortly afterwards, I began incorporating digital references and developing the more refined visual language that would come to define the next chapter of my work.

This is one of those paintings I find myself returning to often. Looking back, it feels suspended somewhere between memory and imagination; a reflection of a fleeting period in my life that remains vivid despite the passing of time.
